Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa (1836-86), was born early in the morning in the village of Kamarpukur in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. His original name was Gadadhar Chattopadhyay. He was the teacher of Swami Vivekananda, a Bengali Shakta saint who was intoxicated with God. He exemplified the devotional dimension of 'strong universalism'.
