The Indian Air Force was established at Drig Road in Karachi (now in Pakistan). Subroto Mukherjee and four different officials were enlisted as pilots when the main Indian Flying corps unit was shaped. The first aircraft flight joined the Indian Air Force, at which time it consisted of six RAF-trained officers and 19 Hawaiian Sepoys (literally, air soldiers); Its aircraft inventory included four Westland WPT IIs. Planned No. 1 (Army Co-operation) Squadron's "A" Flight as the nucleus of an Army Co-operation bi-plane at Drigg Road.

The Reserve Bank of India was established as a central bank and this bank was given the responsibility of issuing notes. The office of the Commissioner of Issue of Currency was abolished and replaced by the Governor of the RBI. The issue offices spread across the country came to be known as Regional Offices of the Reserve Bank.
