He is primarily known for his involvement in the assassination of a British Raj police officer in Lahore and was also a member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association, which wanted to free India from British rule by any means necessary. He was hanged by the English government alongside Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev Thapar.
